- VIE is among the 11 research organizations in Vietnam that report directly to the Prime Minister

- VIE was awarded the 1st class Labor Order (2001) and the 3rd class Labor Order (2005) by Vietnamese Government.

- According to the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), in the top 100 think tanks in Southeast Asia and Pacific region, VIE ranked 44^th in 2020 (also ranked 44^th in 2019, 2018 and  42^nd in 2017).

- Since 2018, VSED has been the only Vietnamese journal being highly appreciated and recognized by ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council) (39 members), indexing in ABDC's Journal Quality List (reviewing annually).
