On January 12, 2023, the Vietnam Institute of Economics coordinated with agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Science and Technology to organize a conference: "Solutions to improve productivity and quality for businesses in the age of the digital economy". The conference aims to share information and contribute to providing solutions to help businesses improve productivity and quality in the digital economy era. Co-chairing the conference was Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam - Deputy Director in charge of Vietnam Productivity Institute and Associate Professor, PhD. Bui Quang Tuan - Director of Vietnam Institute of Economics.

On October 31, 2023, the Vietnam Institute of Economics organized a technical seminar with the topic "Employment and household welfare under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam: Poverty and inequality simulation". This is a training activity with the participation of a research team from the program "The Impact of COVID-19 on Inclusive Development and Democratic Governance: a Post-Graduation Rapid Assessment pandemic in the Mekong sub-region", implemented by Centre for Analysis and Forecasting, funded by the International Development Research Center (IDRC), and coordinated by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI).
